You're gonna love this hotel. It's a short and beautiful 10-minute walk to the popular Königsee lake & tourist attractions. It's also located right off the main highway that leads into Berchtesgaden. Plus, the intersecting street leads you right into the quaint town of Schonau -- and will also take you straight to beautiful Ramsau for hiking, etc. The hotel grounds are emaculate (inside and out) -- decorated in the classic Bavarian style. One thing to note - they do not serve lunch or dinner. However, there is no shortage of dining options in the area. The downstairs kitchen is available to all guests 24/7. Here, you help yourself to beer, wine, lemonade, water, pop, etc. (not complimentary, of course). Choose this hotel and enjoy! So relaxing...||

We were looking for somewhere for dinner and stumbled upon this great looking place with plenty of parking. It comprises of a hotel and restaurant. We entered the restaurant, where there were around 6 tables with customers eating so the outlook looked promising, we were seated near the kitchen, an experience I won’t forget in a hurry. We ordered and waited... after 15 minutes or so we heard the tell tale sign of a schnitzel being beaten thin, shortly followed by the chef arguing with an old lady in the kitchen. You could hear a pin drop in the restaurant the whole time we were there and we all looked at each other nervously nodding and smiling at each other. The arguing died down and the old lady hobbled around the kitchen flanked by two younger male chefs. For some reason there was still an issue in the kitchen and he erupted again, shouting at her in german. Our food took ages and by this time we just wanted to leave. Finally a disappointing looking meal was plonked in front of us. The food was certainly nothing spectacular, and I left feeling like I needed to seek counselling after what we’d been through. Whilst there a brave customer approached the kitchen and complained to which the old lady just shrugged and laughed at them. Not a nice atmosphere, food was very average and I certainly won’t be back. It was like Hells Kitchen Live!

We have agreed to stay for a night with 1/2 pension and breakfast. We tried to confirm rates and 1/2 pension upon arrival, but 1/2 pension was denied., but rates without dinner and with breakfast was confirm. What a surprised next day morning during the check out -the owner charged us for breakfast. What a swindler and scammer. It spoiled our stay in Ramsau.
