For 10 days the three of us (my wife, me and our dog) stayed at Star Castle. We travel a lot around the globe and normally use rentals for our trips. So, it was not too difficult to understand from the very 1st day of our stay that finally we found THE RENTAL = a "home" which matched our many-years-old idea of what it should be like. The location is great. You have lots of fantastic destinations within reasonable driving time (1-2 hours). You have kilometres of tracks with the most picturesque views your dog will be happy to enjoy by your side (mountain slopes, forests, lawns, mountain streams, waterfalls..). The view from the HUGE terrace is absolutely hypnotising. The apartment, on one hand, shows immaculate taste of its designers (the wonderful owners family, Heike and Guenther), as every little interior detail speaks of a HOME, a place created as if the owners themselves initially were planning to live there. On the other hand, it's a fully equipped place where everything you might need during your stay is provided for you (full-scale kitchen with all possible appliances, ALL the consumables, mountains of towels and robes, high-speed wi-fi, a PC, etc.). Actually, one doesn't have to spend a single cent on anything but food and drinks in addition to what one pays for the rent. Heike and Guenther will give you all the support you might need before your arrival answering your numerous questions, getting tickets for some events you might want to see (in our case it was Bregenz Festspiele - annual opera festival of the international fame) and so on and so forth. During our stay they were always there for us meeting literally EVERY our demand (I have to admit we used their hospitality shamelessly). And again, we saw them ONLY in case WE wanted it (i.e., privacy is guaranteed). However, be sure you'll want it quite often not only because of some practical needs, but because it's sheer fun just talking to them. So, if you look for a rental in Austrian Alps that combines all the luxury of a 5* hotel with what you'd expect from a "homeaway" - Star Castle is THE place to be (the last but not the least, at a very fair price).
