Please consider a different place if you’re traveling with children or you don’t want to share the bathroom with strangers. The photos don’t indicate that the bathroom is shared and that fact is somewhat hidden near the end of a lengthy description on the property’s booking.com page. The price is also not indicative of such poor accommodation; they were charging close to a hundred euros per night for two adults with a kid.
The location of the property doesn’t seem safe at all.
We decided to cancel our booking after spending the first night there. We weren’t able to sleep because every movement makes noise: the beds, the doors, the floors - everything is squeaky.
For the same price, we got an apartment room at one of the low budget hotels. The room had a private bathroom (with a bathtub nonetheless), private kitchen and a balcony. It was exceptionally clean, with lovely staff, in a nice and safe neighborhood.
Favoriten rooms property refunded less than a third of our payment, which was made upfront for 7 nights. Initially they refused to cancel the booking and issue a partial refund; we had to contact booking.com support center to cancel our booking. They were kind enough to give us back the money the property would charge for approximately 2 nights. I guess that’s fair enough, since the booking was non-refundable, and it was our price to pay for not reading the full description of the property.
Overall: this is an overpriced hostel. If you want my advice, go with a low budget hotel instead - for the same price you get MUCH more comfort.
